The ‘by The Kids’ model is a child-led creative framework that empowers children to to author the spaces where they live, learn and play. It shifts the traditional dynamic of adult lked programming by positioning children as co-creators, decision makers and storytellers of their own expereinces and environments.
“I created ‘by The Kids’ because I believe children are powerful storytellers and cultural thinkers. When we trust them to lead, when we listen deeply, they show us how to imagine differently, how to build communities with more care, curiosity, and joy.”
- Claudia Chidiac
Since 2021, creative producer Claudia Chidiac has pioneered the by The Kids model—an evolving series of projects that position children as cultural leaders, curators, and creators of public art. Born from a deep belief in the intelligence, creativity, and vision of young people, by The Kids invites children to reimagine their neighbourhoods through sound, storytelling, and playful intervention. Working in close partnership with local primary schools and artists, Claudia centres the everyday spaces where children learn and grow—transforming streets, parks, and train stations into stages for their ideas. These projects aren’t just for kids; they are by The Kids, amplifying voices that are too often left out of cultural life and showing us all what cities can look like when led by the imaginations of children.
